Back at Park Sierra
We got back to Park Sierra last Monday and the weather couldn't be much better. Sunny, highs in the mid 60's. Not quite the 70's and 80's that we had in the desert but then the desert isn't nearly as beautiful as it is here in the spring.
On Saturday night we were involved with the PIP (Partners In Participation) 'Hats Off to Volunteers' night. This was an event to acknowledge all of those Park members who were involved in maintaining our beautiful Park over the past year. The idea was to wear or make a hat to wear that would later be judged and possibly win a prize. Some of us just bought interesting hats, some of us wore hats that we had and still others (the creative ones) made hats especially for the occasion. There were about 150 members and guests in attendance who enjoyed a wonderful build your own tostada dinner. The food was outstanding. 'Hats off' to Ken and Janice for organizing such a fun event.
What surprised me was just how many people got up for the parade of hats. Oh, I can just hear my son's comments right now!
A good time was had by all. Ain't life grand!
